On this webpage you can access information on earmarks in the appropriations. By clicking on the link below, you can browse available earmark data by Appropriations Subcommittee. Data is collected in two phases: the tracking phase collects data from Federal departments and agencies as earmarks move through the legislative process to become law. Tracking data includes total counts, amounts (in thousands), and listings of earmarks with descriptions, funding by stage, congressional sponsors, and supporting citations. The distribution phase collects recipient and beneficiary information after the fiscal year's end. The website has been updated to reflect both phases for FY 2009.
Note: These estimates may differ from those of other entities due to differences in the definition of an earmark used by that entity. Definitions used by the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate can be found on their respective websites.
The Department of Defense's FY 2009 Earmark Data is still pending certification.
