Description: The Edward Byrne Memorial Discretionary Grants Program (Byrne Discretionary Program) helps local communities improve the capacity of local justice systems and provides for national support efforts. This project is authorized and funded through a line item in the FY 08 Congressional Budget. Funds should be used for purposes recommended by Congress. The City of Baton Rouge-Parish of East Baton Rouge will establish effective communication technology measures to target crime prevention. These measures will be established through research and obtaining pertinent information from neighborhood residents in the target area through a series of discussion forums. Each community within the target area will be responsible for implementing the communication technology measures. NCA/NCF
